No, not what you think it means.

What we're talking about today is the Responsible Plan to End the War.

Darcy Burner took the initiative to create the plan, drawing on the expertise of four generals and a number of national security experts. While it doesn't match the speed of the Moody Loner Just-Bug-Out-And-Run-Screaming plan, it does have the advantages of

1. Dignity and

2. Actual analysis.

Over the flip, we have an excerpt from Second Life where Jimbo Hoyer discusses it with Daily Kos front-pager mcjoan.

The Plan has something we haven't seen much of when discussing the war - actual objectives. Blockquoted from JayAckroyd's diary:

• An end to US military obligations and costs in Iraq.
• An end to wide-scale civilian deaths in Iraq.
• Reducing the threat posed to the rest of the world by an unstable Iraq.
• A U.S. energy policy that frees us from our dependence on oil.
• Repairing U.S. institutions to avoid making the same mistake again.
• No use of Iraq as a military leverage point for the U.S. in the Middle East.
• No U.S. domination over Iraqi oil
• No protection of profits for war profiteers

Now those are objectives I can get behind. So, y'all know what to do - go to that banner up there and read the Plan, and if you like it, sign on. Then contact your Congresscritter and berate them until they sign on too, or block your number.

Because we all may have our differences, but ending that God-awful occupation is not one of them.

Logo contest

Let's start off with a logo contest - anyone happening across this knows I need a logo.

The logo will be used for the masthead and for swag at a Cafe Press or Good Storm store.

Winner will receive whatever I can afford whenever I make the store.

Welcome to Thinking Meat.

Yes, I'm starting a group blog. No, I haven't decided what we'll talk about - politics, gaming, science fiction, and kids all come to mind.

I'll be posting site rules and posting rules soon - but to take a page from Street Prophets, Don't be a jerk is a good start.

Again, welcome - I'll be posting links to the Electronic Darwinism archives, and I may just make True Facts about Markos a community diary here.
